After what seems like months of waiting since their initial announcements, two anticipated restaurant projects are finally ready to open their doors, almost in time for New Year's. The first opening will be Holler and Dash, the Cracker Barrel-backed project spearheaded by former Mason’s chef Brandon Frohne. The latest outpost of the fast-casual breakfast and lunch spot will open this Tuesday, Jan. 3, in Brentwood, in the new Hill Center at 203 Franklin Road, Suite 120. So if you really love biscuits but don’t have the time to wait in line, point yourself to Brentwood for Holler and Dash’s array of Southern-inspired biscuit sandwiches.
Closer to town, the team behind the bricks-and-mortar location of the The Grilled Cheeserie have finally completed their build-out of their portion of the former Sunset Grill building at 2003 Belcourt Ave.. The Melt Shop will offer a larger menu than what has previously been available from The Grilled Cheeserie’s two trucks, including some of your favorite daily specials from the past, turned into permanent menu items. After a few days of friends-and-family test meals, the doors will officially swing open on Friday, Jan. 6, just in time for the peak soup-and-gooey-sandwich season of winter.
