The co-hosts of PBS shows Cook’s Country and America’s Test Kitchen, Bridget Lancaster and Julia Collin Davison, are coming to Nashville on Tuesday, Nov. 7, for a special cooking skills demonstration and tasting event. The two took over hosting duties of the shows for this season after the departure of former host Christopher Kimball. But longtime viewers know them for their recipe and equipment testing segments throughout the show’s history.
Local PBS affiliate WNPT is hosting the event at the Piedmont Natural Gas offices near the airport. The event will include a kitchen skills (knife skills!) demonstration by Lancaster and Davison, hors d’oeuvres and beverages, tips from the co-hosts, conversation and more. Additionally, each attendee will receive a complimentary cookbook (let’s hope it’s the 10th anniversary cookbook for Cook’s Country that was released a couple of months ago). Tickets are $75 per person, and proceeds from the event go to support NPT programming.
If you’re not familiar with the shows, Cook’s Country focuses on classic recipes and regional favorites from all over the country, and America’s Test Kitchen focuses on the science and creation of a few recipes during each show. The equipment reviews and tips for home cooks are particularly helpful.
Cook’s Country airs 12:30 p.m. Saturdays on NPT, and 10 a.m. Tuesdays and 8 p.m. Wednesdays on NPT2. America’s Test Kitchen airs noon Saturdays on NPT, and 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and 7:30 p.m. on NPT2.
