Grace’s Plaza Wine and Spirits Is Becoming Green Hills Corkdorks Express

One of the details of the recent changes in the state’s liquor laws that allowed wine sales in grocery stores was the new provision that an individual can now own more than one liquor store. That has allowed Paul Patel to take over what was Grace’s Plaza Wine and Spirits in addition to his original store, Midtown Wine and Spirits. He has decided to rebrand both stores under the Corkdorks brand, a cheeky name he has used in his email newsletter for years.

So Green Hills shoppers will have a newly minted store for their wine and spirits needs, now called Green Hills Corkdorks Express at 4009 Hillsboro Pike. The store will officially open this Wednesday, Feb. 1, with a full day of festivities beginning at noon. The real party will start at 4 p.m. with tastings, live music, and a radio remote from 93.3 FM. They’ll be sampling all sorts of wine, spirits, beer and cheese, and their employees (which they call sommeliers) will be on hand to offer store tours and advice.

The store promises to stock plenty of standard everyday products but also a wide variety of more obscure wines, which they promise will be the largest selection in Green Hills. Sure, there are more options than ever thanks to the expansion of wine sales into groceries, but it’s nice to see a traditional retailer putting an investment into their business like this. Drop in to help them celebrate!
