Gone but Not Forgotten: Paradise Park to Pop Up at First Tennessee Park

Just when we’d finally gotten over the closing of Paradise Park Trailer resort in July after it served 11 years as a Lower Broad stalwart offering exactly the sort of steady food and drink that befitted a place you ended up at instead of a place that you actually went to, they’ve gone and tempted us with another taste of the tot. The Goldberg brothers of Strategic Hospitality that ran Paradise Park also manage The Band Box at First Tennessee Park, so it only made sense that they resurrect the trailer resort for another last hurrah.

Their Paradise Park pop-up at First Tennessee Park on Labor Day Weekend will be called “Paradise at the Park” as part of a promotion for the game against the Memphis Redbirds on Saturday, Sept. 1. The tribute night will feature live music performances by the band The Otherside, plus $6 Natural Light beer specials and Paradise Park’s famous hand-dipped corn dogs and cheese fries and tots at The Band Box. There will also be a Paradise Park merch table in case you weren’t able to buy your share of swag before the doors closed in July.

“Paradise Park was the epitome of a good time,” says Adam Nuse, general manager of the Nashville Sounds. “So having a pop-up at a game just seemed like the perfect way to marry the fun of Paradise Park with the carefree feel of a ballgame, and we’re excited to offer this to folks on a holiday weekend!”

Fans can buy a special package for just $25 that includes one general admission ticket to the game between the Sounds and the (boo hiss!) Redbirds on Sept. 1, plus a 32-ounce Natural Light Paradise Park souvenir pitcher ($6 refills) and one voucher for a free Paradise Park corn dog or grilled cheese with tots, offered only at The Band Box. That sounds (heh) like a helluva deal!

If you decide not to purchase the package ahead of time, $6 32-ounce Natural Light souvenir pitchers will still be available for separate purchase while supplies last. Paradise Park’s corn dog and grilled cheese, both served with tots, will also be available for separate purchase for $10. Play ball!
