Frankies $3 slice with a beer
When Urban Cowboy opened its second major Nashville property in The Arcade downtown, one of the details I was most excited about was the addition of a slice shop from the Brooklyn pizza masters at Roberta’s. Especially since the demise of Manny’s back in 2023, I have availed myself frequently of a slice from Roberta’s when I needed a quick bite between tasks downtown. So I was surprised last month to discover that Roberta’s had departed the space. (They’re still going strong in East Nashville, though!)
But fret not, readers. Urban Cowboy has invited another beloved Brooklyn transplant to Nashville to fill that pepperoni-shaped hole in our hearts in the form of Frankies.
Urban Cowboy founder Lyon Porter chose Frankies founders Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli, alongside partner John Burns Paterson, as the newest exclusive culinary partner for the hospitality brand. Frankies has already built a strong following at its East Nashville location at 925 Cherokee Ave. thanks to old-school Italian American cooking.

At The Arcade, Frankies features a menu built around Brooklyn-style pies like the Sicilian Pepperoni, Frankies Hot and Capicola, all designed to pair with Urban Cowboy Bar’s cocktails. Pies are available for dine-in, takeout and also delivery exclusively via DoorDash.
So feel good about the change, pizza lovers. We still have both Roberta’s and Frankies in East Nashville, and now there’s the possibility that Urban Cowboy might be able to offer a further expanded menu in The Arcade in the future. Sometimes change can be good.
