Philippe Chow Slates Intimate Bourbon Tasting

A few years ago I introduced readers to Four Branches Bourbon, a Nashville-based non-distilling whiskey company founded by a quartet of veterans who represented the four (pre-Space Force) branches of the military. I’ve watched the brand grow since 2023, and I see their representatives working hard to introduce their products at liquor stores and restaurants around town.

They have grown the offering into a robust product line of five different expressions and have been collecting awards at various tasting competitions around the country. Now two of the founders are hosting a special tasting at Philippe Chow on Thursday, Sept. 24, where guests will sample four bourbons and learn about the brand’s history.

Starting at 6 p.m., Marine Corps veteran Rick Franco and former Navy SEAL Harold Underdown will sit down with a small group in the opulent Imperial Dining Room to taste whiskey and listen to stories. Philippe Chow actually features Four Branches in two signature cocktails on its bar menu, including the Gold Top, which contributes a portion of its sales to benefit music education and health and wellness initiatives through Gibson Gives.

Franco is excited for the opportunity to meet some new and old fans of the brand. “For us, bourbon has always been about bringing people together, and this event at Philippe Chow gives us the opportunity to share the story behind Four Branches Bourbon and walk guests through some of our favorite expressions.”

The Four Branches Founders Table Tasting will be $44 per person, plus tax and service fees, and guests can make reservations through Open Table Experiences. Guests who attend the tasting can also make dinner reservations following the event and will receive a complimentary appetizer per table.
