East Nashville is slated for its next craft brewery, to eventually represent the fifth such business within the fast-changing area.

Crazy Gnome Brewery will operate from a small building at 948 Main St., positioned located behind the structure home to Main Street Liquor Market. The space was last home to Transmission Exchange.

Grayson Miller will own and operate the brewery. He said the goal is to be open by year’s end.

Miller, who has been working in the accounting and finance sector, said he will be the business’ head brewer and chief executive officer. Bennett Miller, his brother, will serve as the general manager.

Crazy Gnome will offer 12 rotating taps upon opening, with four year-round beers.

“The other eight will leave plenty of room for experimentation,” Miller said.

Having gotten his start as a home-brewer, Miller is not disclosing the terms of his lease or the cost to get operational.

East Nashville is home to a trio of craft beer breweries: East Nashville Beer Works, Smith & Lentz and Southern Grist. Living Waters Brewing is slated to open this year on East Trinity Lane. Fat Bottom was once located on the east side before moving to The Nations in West Nashville.

Miller said the east side’s growing craft food and beverage scene was a lure regarding his future brewery space.

“Being able to join a community and its restaurants, bars and breweries that I’ve admired as a patron for years is very fulfilling,” he said.
