Bacon and Caviar BBQ Comes to Melrose

Although their plans for a neighborhood preview party were scuttled by Mother Nature last weekend, Ed Smith and Paul Johnson are proud to announce the opening of the second location of B & C Market BBQ to go along with their flagship at the Farmers' Market. (B & C stands for Bacon and Caviar, reflecting the team's downhome-meets-gourmet sensibility.)

Smith and Johnson, who are also experienced caterers, have been making some pretty tasty pig and an outstanding smoked salmon for a couple of years downtown, so we're expecting big things from their newest outpost. They are also generous supporters of various charities around town and just generally good guys, so we wish them luck.

The new restaurant is located in the Melrose Kroger Center, 2617 Franklin Road, which is just north of the I-65 and I-440 interchange. Their plan was to open officially on Feb. 1, but we may give them a day or two to finish shoveling the snow out of the barbecue pit first. If you get there before we do, as always leave your first impressions in the comments.
