If you’ve ever been curious about raising bees, there’s a sweet opportunity coming up this weekend at Green Door Gourmet, where they’ll be hosting Williams Honey Farm’s second annual Natural Beekeeping School on Saturday and Sunday, March 3-4. Sign up for the class, and not only will you learn the A to Z’s of bees, but you’ll also get to practice on the same equipment that you’d use to tend to your hives as well as meeting vendors who provide the gear. There’s also a “Beekeeper Reboot” session for current keepers who want a refresher course on the best practices in responsible and natural beekeeping.
You can even leave the class with the hives, equipment and knowledge to get started right away. Here’s the organizers' list of gear you can preorder with your registration:

If you’re more of a fan of beekeeping than an actual practitioner, you can just pay homage to apis mallifera by attending Green Door Gourmet chef Richard Jones’ special honey-themed dinner 5:30-8 Saturday night, March 3, in the farm's Grand Barn. The dinner will feature a four-course meal, with a special honey tasting followed by dishes created using Williams honey. Get your tickets for $75 at the event website.
