The Middle Tennessee-based branch of Nurses for Newborns is in its eighth year of serving families with disabled children, teen parents and mentally and medically challenged mothers. It’s some of the most admirable work there is, and in 2008 alone NFN provided over 4,000 home visits from registered nurses for families who needed compassionate professional attention. While the bands on Saturday night’s bill were under our radar until recently, we can tell you that they range from vibrant neo-funk to experimental electronica and more. Deep Machine, Deep Fried Five and The Great Lakes perform, and a minimum $5 donation will get you in the door.
