When famed comic and actor Hannibal Buress played Nashville a couple years back, he hit TPAC's 1,000-seat Polk Theater. He told me he dug performing in theater spaces because of the opportunities rooms like those presented, production- and video-wise. But he must have a soft spot for the smaller spaces, because this weekend, he'll play five shows at the significantly more intimate Zanies, and all but one of those shows are sold out. (Buress' 9:45 p.m. show on Friday still appears to have some tickets available.)
But if you missed the boat on Zanies tickets, or if you'd just like to do something a little different, good news for you: Third Man Records will host a taping of Buress' podcast Handsome Rambler. Rambler tends to feature "unfiltered observations on sports, sex, wrestling, relationships, philosophy, books, watches, other podcasts, bottled water reviews" and more. Kind of like "Gibberish Rap," but in podcast form.
Tickets are $25 apiece and available via Third Man's site; doors are at 8, show is at 9.
