Some might think it’s a little crazy to celebrate the winter solstice. After all, it’s the shortest and darkest day of the year, at an exceptionally cold time of year, when we’re all busy spending our lunch breaks and evenings figuring out what to buy our family members. But while the winter solstice marks the longest period of night, it also marks the point at which daylight starts to extend once again. Friday at Warner Park Nature Center, a celebration of the solstice will feature paths lit with luminarias, supplies to make wreaths, and hot chocolate. Here’s to the brighter days ahead.
