You probably know Colman Domingo primarily as an actor. He’s got a loyal following, thanks in part to his work on television’s Fear the Walking Dead. He earned a Tony nomination for his performance in Broadway’s The Scottsboro Boys, and followed that up with an Olivier nod when the musical opened in London. Plus, he has starred in a number of hit films over the years, including Lincoln, Selma and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. But what you may not realize is that Domingo also is an accomplished writer, most recently having penned the book (along with Robert Cary and Des McAnuff) for the Tony-nominated jukebox musical Summer: The Donna Summer Musical. This weekend, you can check out his award-winning autobiographical solo show A Boy and His Soul, currently streaming at Round House Theatre. This funny, moving play — which follows a young gay Black man, coming of age with the soul music of the 1970s and ’80s — is directed for Round House by Craig Wallace and stars Ro Boddie. A Boy and His Soul is streaming on demand through April 18 via roundhousetheatre.org. Tickets are $32.50. Through Sunday, April 18, via Round House Theatre AMY STUMPFL
