UPDATE: RESCHEDULED — Bryan Sutton Band

Bryan Sutton is sort of like a bluegrass answer to Richard Branson: The man has done everything, played with everyone, and been everywhere. Sutton is the foremost flatpicking guitarist of his generation, and his ascent up the bluegrass ladder is a case study in focus and development for a musician. I first put a face to his name in the early 2000s — he was featured on the Dixie Chicks’ album Home, on which he blazed solos over a number of their uptempo tunes. Prior to that, he was a member of Ricky Skaggs’ Kentucky Thunder, was featured on innumerable records as a session guitarist, then joined Tim O’Brien’s Hot Rize. His latest solo album, The More I Learn, while sonically similar to his previous one, features songs that comfortably hold court. It’s another feather in the cap for Sutton, an artist with an already well-adorned career.  CY WINSTANLEY
