The Wonder Years w/Worriers & More

If you recently heard the phrase “emo revival” and didn’t immediately roll your eyes, chances are you’ve already got tickets to see The Wonder Years. Sure, they may have started as a pop-punk act in the mid-Aughts, but over the years they’ve evolved into something darker, with their newest album, Sister Cities, sounding more Thursday than New Found Glory. But one thing to note: You cannot be late to this show. Brooklyn band Worriers are opening the four-band bill (which also includes Tigers Jaw and Tiny Moving Parts), and their 2017 release Survival Pop was one of the year’s best. Singer and guitarist Lauren Denitzio turns discomfort and restlessness into melodic pop-punk gems that are as peppy as they are heartbreakingly relatable for anyone who’s ever felt inadequate. From “Not Your Type,” about the struggle of not fitting into traditional gender roles, to “What We’re Up Against,” a rollicking pop track that’ll give you strength in the face of adversity, Survival Pop is packed with anthems that will remind you that it’s OK to just be you.
