Studio 23 Nashville Live! Concert series returns to Bellevue
NASHVILLE, TN – The second installment of the new Studio 23 Nashville Live! Concert series returns to World Music Nashville, 7069 US Highway 70, Nashville, TN 37221 Saturday, March 10 at 6:00 p.m. Featured performers are Walter Egan, Bobby Tomberlin, Tim Buppert, Beth Sass and Laura Powers, supported by a stellar house band. Tickets are $15 and are available at www.brownpapertickets.com.
The concert is an offshoot of the popular online video music series, Studio 23 Nashville, hosted by musician Bryan Cumming and broadcast personality Jennifer Herron. The two will co-host the concert that features live performances of guests who have previously appeared in the online video series. Vince Pinkerton Productions will shoot and edit the concert into an online version that will be available on the series web site, www.studio23nashville.com.
“The online video series is getting such a good response, we thought it was only natural to have concerts that could be enjoyed by a live audience,” Cumming said. “The accommodating performance venue at World Music Nashville is the perfect place to bring these artists together with an audience.”
Herron, a veteran of WSM Radio, WSMV TV and other Nashville media outlets added, “The quality and popularity of our musical guests will surely please Nashville’s discerning music lovers who enjoy attending concerts.”
Concert performer Walter Egan's illustrious career includes his 1978 Billboard Top Ten Single hit song "Magnet and Steel," and "Hearts On Fire," recorded by Gram Parsons and Emmy Lou Harris on Parsons' final album. Egan will perform both songs at the concert, along with other material. Egan's solo album "Not Shy" was produced by Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac.
Bobby Tomberlin is best known for co-writing Diamond Rio's Number One country hit "One More Day." Tim Buppert co-wrote Kevin Sharp's Number One country hit "She's Sure Taking It Well." In addition, the concert will feature singer/pianist/songwriter/educator Beth Sass and singer/songwriter/painter Laura Powers.
Beth Sass, Casio Digital Keyboard Artist, toured playing keyboard with various groups including the Platters, the Drifters, the Coasters, and the Marvelettes.
Laura Powers has released a trilogy of CDs entitled "Legends of the Goddess," for which she painted the album covers.
The band onstage throughout the concert will be Tim Buppert (drums), John Vogt (bass) Beth Sass, (piano), and Bryan Cumming (guitar).
