Tuesday night, pop queen supreme Chappell Roan rolled into FirstBank Amphitheater in Franklin for her third appearance in Middle Tennessee this year. Previously, she opened the Bridgestone Arena date on Olivia Rodrigo's Guts Tour and played the second-biggest stage to a headliner-size crowd at Bonnaroo. The sold-out crowd presumably included folks who got tickets Roan’s team identified as scalper-bought, canceled and resold last month. They packed the house in plenty of time to be warmed up by the three Nashville-area drag queens — Coquetta, Aquamarine and Alexia Noelle Paris — who opened the show, per Roan’s tradition.
The pop femininominon recently marked the one-year anniversary of her smash-hit debut LP The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. The title inspired the night's “Midwest Princess” costume theme, from which camo with pops of pink blossomed onstage and throughout the crowd. The set focused heavily on the album — including a midset pause to teach the audience the moves to the “Hot to Go!” dance — though fan-favorite single “Good Luck Babe!” and recently debuted song “The Subway” were also highlights of the show.
Ace freelance photographer Emily April Allen shot the concert for us and got pics of many great fan hangs on her way into the show. Take a look below.
