Singer Ruby Amanfu has long been a versatile presence in Nashville’s homegrown music scene. She was one-half of singer-songwriter pop duo Sam and Ruby, she’s collaborated with Jack White and served as a member of his all-female backing band The Peacocks, and last year she released her diverse and emotive solo debut, Standing Still. Amanfu also has a knack for finding herself onstage and in the studio with some pretty big stars — she provided backing vocals on the White-produced “Don’t Hurt Yourself” from Beyoncé’s Lemonade, and she’s sung with the likes of Weezer and Hozier. This weekend, Amanfu will put her showbiz connections and powerhouse vocal prowess on display with an all-star revue at 3rd & Lindsley, where she’ll be joined by My Morning Jacket’s Carl Broemel, Wilco’s Pat Sansone, Vanessa Carlton and her Deer Tick-fronting husband John McCauley, The Features’ Matt Pelham, killer instrumentalists Steelism and more. And here’s a little altruistic cherry on top of your Ruby sundae: Proceeds from the show will benefit musicians’ assistance nonprofit MusiCares. D. PATRICK RODGERS
