I love going to see outdoor movies, but I have one complaint: They’re always crowded with crying, screaming, inquisitive, hungry, sticky and/or sleeping children. Don’t get me wrong — I don’t hate kids! Kids can be great! (Especially your kid. Your kid is the cutest, smartest and funniest kid of all.) But sometimes, as an adult, I just want to go watch a movie under the stars while fireflies sparkle around me without a baby screaming about how he dropped his ice cream cone or she pooped her pants. Nightlight 615 gets it. All spring and summer long they’ve been hosting weekly 21-and-older movie nights at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall Amphitheater, and this week they’re screening The Goonies, the perfect nostalgic adventure flick to watch after bingeing the newest season of Stranger Things for the second time. There will be beer from Yazoo Brewing Co. and food from The Grilled Cheeserie, Chivanada, Hoss Burgers, Funk Seoul Brother, Daddy’s Dogs and Bruster’s Real Ice Cream. (Hey Bruster’s: Please, for the love of Sloth, offer a Truffle Shuffle Sundae special!) You just need to bring some pillows, a blanket, a chair (no higher than 28 inches from the ground to the top of the back of the chair, please) or whatever else you need to get comfy and sit back and enjoy. Tickets are $9 in advance and $15 day of show — visit nightlight615.com to purchase. 7:30 p.m. at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, 600 James Robertson Parkway MEGAN SELING
