Former President Donald Trump has won Tennessee’s 11 electoral votes in his third bid for the presidency.

Trump so far has also secured the electoral votes of states including Kentucky, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina and others.

Trump won the general election in Tennessee in 2020 with more than 60 percent of the vote and more than 1.85 million individual votes cast in his favor. In the March 2024 Republican primary, Trump garnered 446,850 votes — more than he earned in the 2016 and 2020 Republican primaries.

The night is far from over. Vice President Kamala Harris has locked in the electoral votes of Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey and others. President Joe Biden earned just 37 percent of Tennesseans’ votes in 2020 — roughly 1.14 million individual votes.

Still up for grabs by either candidate tonight are battleground states including Arizona, Georgia and Pennsylvania. As of 8 p.m., it's unclear who will earn 270 electoral votes necessary to become the next president of the United States.
