In this report, Channel 2 proves itself completely incapable of doing this thing called journalism. This could have been an uplifting account of a high school student who refused to let bumbling educators censor her. Instead, we have what amounts to a rebuke of the ACLU for having the audacity to sue to stop teachers from brazenly promoting Christianity in school. As our favorite education blogger, Nashville Jefferson, points out:

Look: there’s a difference between forbidding teachers from proselytizing or leading prayer, or stopping the school from allowing Bibles to be handed out or scheduling school events in churches, and allowing a student to quote the Bible and talk about her faith. It’s her speech. It’s her faith. This isn’t the kind of thing the lawsuit was meant to prevent.

Channel 2 either doesn't know this or chose not to explain it. Instead, Bob Mueller merely observed that the ACLU sued the school system earlier this year, leaving viewers to surmise that it's all the big bad ACLU's fault.
