From the Pith inbox comes two nuggets worth passing along ...

First, Eddie George is joining the Howard Gentry campaign as treasurer. The campaign confirmed to Pith that this is a mostly ceremonial/fundraising role and that George won't actually be preparing the financial disclosures for Gentry.

Nashvillian Eddie George has joined Howard Gentry’s campaign for Mayor as Treasurer. Entrepreneur, sports analyst, actor and retired Tennessee Titan great, George’s accomplishments on the football field are legendary, but during the past decade he has quietly built businesses aimed at helping improve the quality of life for all Americans. "Nashville has come a long way and is currently one of the hottest cities in the nation, but there's still work to be done, and Howard Gentry is the man who can get the job done,” says George. “I've known Howard since I came to Tennessee in 1997, and he has been a great example of a leader in business, education and politics."

Gentry thanked George for his support and willingness to serve in his mayoral campaign.

“Eddie and Taj could have lived anywhere after his retirement, but they chose to live in Nashville because they realized many years ago our city’s potential,” Gentry said. “Eddie George understands we have work to do across this city to make it work for everyone. I am excited that he will help lead our campaign to success so that we can be able to do that.”

Meanwhile, Linda Eskind Rebrovick has

launched a website

which she promises greater detail

on key issues

as well as expanded biographical information.

“This isn’t just a website, but rather a blueprint for how to create a ‘Smarter Nashville’ by methodically addressing our city’s biggest short- and long-term challenges,” said Rebrovick. “In a race this important, I think it’s critical to address in detail Nashville’s issues and opportunities, and to offer ideas for solutions. Voters want to see that I have a plan for Nashville’s future.” The website, www.LindaForNashville.com, includes full-length pages outlining Nashville’s key issues along with Rebrovick’s ideas for how to solve them. The site offers pages for education, transportation, infrastructure, jobs and economy, and public safety and quality of life. Additional issue areas and policy platforms will be added during the campaign.

“Our goal for the website is to introduce Linda and her concepts for a ‘Smarter Nashville’ to all Nashvillians, but we also want to create a two-way channel of communication that allows the community to ask questions and offer ideas for how to solve our city’s challenges,” said Matt Griffin, communication director for the Linda for Nashville campaign.
