Last night the Metro Council approved a non-binding memorializing resolution calling for the resignation of scandal-plagued Davidson County Court Clerk John Arriola. But as the City Paper's Joey Garrison reports, the talk of the evening concerned someone who remained conspicuously silent:
After five days of public silence following his arrest for patronizing prostitution, Metro Councilman Brady Banks showed up at Tuesday’s council meeting but left without speaking to media. In doing so, the 33-year-old, first-term councilman —— who hasn’t talked publicly in the aftermath of his arrest —— confused some council members and Metro officials who witnessed the move. Some weren’t aware Banks had been in the chambers.“I didn’t know until the cameras were gone that he was even in the room,” At-large Councilman Ronnie Steine said.
“I wouldn’t presume to know what’s in his mind at the moment,” he added.
