Nothing beats swiping the racks IRL, but just as Nashville's fashion scene has come bubbling up as of late, so too have the local blogo- and Twitterspheres, giving savvy look-seekers some reliable online options for scoping local styles and following homegrown inventory. A few good places to start: Nashville Fashion Blog (www.nashvillefashionblog.blogspot.com), which covers everything from local events to fashion-related job openings; Sierra Jacobson's The Look Book (www.thelookbookmag.com), which provides a curated view of area boutiques and goings-on; and Stella Shops (www.stellashops.com), which posts a handy list of Nashville-area sales each week.

From there you can branch out to shop sites like Local Honey (www.localhoneynashville.blogspot.com), where Shea Steele's finely honed sartorial musings complement her vintage-and-originals store, the nexus of the local fashion scene. Other Nashville-centric fashion blogs run the gamut from personality-driven first-person style diaries like Zarna's Runway (www.zarnasrunway.blogspot.co), which focuses on the whims and acquisitions of its author, to the crowd-sourced fashion feed at Style By Me (nashville.styleby.me), which posts a diverse array of user-submitted photos featuring Nashvillians in various states of dress and/or repose. Perhaps the most intriguing of the bunch is the street-style blog Under the Guise (www.undertheguise.com), Heidi Jewell's constantly evolving collection of candid snaps from around Nashville (and beyond), capturing the young and smartly attired on side streets, outside cafes and at the occasional basement rock show. UTG has turned heads outside of the 615 as well, catching the eye of renowned fashion website Refinery29, which recently ran a selection of her photos in the Street Fashion section of their site. We've heard stirrings that at least one other big-name publication will be dedicating some of its web space to Nashville, so stay tuned.

And if real-time is more your speed, Twitterers can find sale info, stock updates and in-store antics courtesy of local feeds from boutique owners like East Nashville's Goodbuy Girls, Hill Center's Two Elle and 12South's Closet Case Vintage (@goodbuygirls, @twoellerabbits and @closetcaseVNTG, respectively) — to name a few.
