Nashville's Best Halloween Events

Oct. 31 is almost upon us, and there are more ghoul-related things to do than you can shake a broomstick at. Here’s some of the best.

Friday: Pavilion East hosts Day of the Dead Tequila Festival ($39), with samples of 15 different tequilas, food from Las Palmas, face painting, a DJ set from Jared Corder of *repeat repeat and more. The Belcourt will show The Rocky Horror Picture Show as its Midnight Movie on Oct. 27-28, and again at 10 p.m. on Halloween night, so come as your favorite gender-bending mad scientist or dangerously lost traveler. The Full Moon Tattoo and Horror Festival kicks off two nights of revelry at the Hotel Preston, where a $25 ticket gets you in for movies and tattoo artists from all over the world, while an extra $15 unlocks access to their “slaughterhouse.”

Saturday: Paranormal Rocktivity at Marathon ($32) is Lightning 100’s holiday concert, with freaky funk-rockers Here Come the Mummies, and a set from DJ Johny Jackson. QDP’s annual Halloween dance party is back at The 5 Spot again ($5). Drkmttr’s ’80s cover show, Too Ghoul for Cool ($5), will feature The Replacement Replacements, The Miss Shits, Wild Planets and Tom Violence.

Tuesday: Dave Wakeling of The English Beat and General Public will tell stories and play at the City Winery’s “SKA-lloween,” with DJ Dr. Wood opening ($20-30). STEVE CAVENDISH
