Nearly 150,000 people flocked to the Germantown neighborhood last year to enjoy Nashville’s venerable fall festival — which just keeps getting bigger, and now stretches over three days and eight blocks. Beer and food are at the heart of the fest, with scores of vendors (including 18 German beers and special brews from Nashville’s own Yazoo). But the festival is also family-friendly — organizers say an entire street will be dedicated to kids’ activities this year. Also fun: 150 craft booths to browse, and an entertainment lineup that includes oom-pah bands, a parade and a dachshund dash. (Man, those wiener dogs can run!)
