Yonatan Gat Tonight at Queen Ave.

For a half-decade, chaotic Israeli noise-punk trio Monotonix toured the world with their sweat-drenched, unpredictable and occasionally terrifying — seriously, there was often fire and stage-diving and nudity — live show. But since the band’s breakup in 2011, guitarist Yonatan Gat has focused less on punk rock antics and more on displaying his genuinely impressive chops.

This week, Gat and his drummer, Gal Lazer, are releasing a Steve Albini-produced “mini-album” by the name of Physical Copy. Not exactly a single and not exactly an EP, Physical Copy features a Side A, titled “0,” made up of five short tracks that are blended into one shape-shifting seven-minute instrumental piece that rides a sometimes difficult-to-distinguish line between jazz and noise rock.

Live, you can likely expect plenty of impressive improvisation and enthusiastic energy, even if Monotonix-style fires and nudity aren’t on the agenda. You can get your fix of wildness and volume from local rock ’n’ rollers Hans Condor and Chrome Pony, who open the show, Which starts at 9 p.m. and costs $10.

Holy shit.
