The Wild Cow Kicks Off Tonight

The Wild Cow Vegetarian Restaurant opens tonight for its first dinner following Saturday's grand opening party.

The East Nashville eatery, located across from Rosepepper Cantina on Eastland Avenue, aims to serve Nashville's sizable (and largely ignored) vegetarian and vegan community—while offering enough creativity and fresh ingredients to lure diners of all persuasions.

John and Melanie Cochran are the owners. The menu, which can be seen on the website, features vegetarian sandwiches and entrées (tofu and tempeh take a starring role in many), dips and salads. Melanie Cochran says daily specials will also be key. At the opening party, the special was lasagna, in both vegetarian (with cheese) and vegan (dairy-free) versions.
