It took the death of Michael Joseph Jackson to get MTV to start playing music videos again (at least for a little while, before getting right back to 16 and Pregnant or whatever), so who's going to premiere these things in a way that tries to make the whole thing feel kinda important in the way that the premieres of music videos used to feel kinda important? Well, the world leader in late-night softcore, that's who.
Tomorrow (Saturday) night, The Dead Weather debut their video for "Treat Me Like Your Mother" on Cinemax, right before the network's showing of the Angelina assassin-porn flick Wanted. It would seem, from what little we get to see in the promo clip, that Jack White and Alison Mosshart have some kind of duel involving automatic weapons, which may or may not be a metaphor for their feelings. That goes down at 8:55 p.m. Nashville time.
I don't have cable, so if you watch it, let me know who wins. And do they take their guns into a public park? That would be timely.
