It's feeling like a slow news day, Nashville. Plus, we've got this here newly reconfigured dead tree edition to reckon with.
* The Dead Weather will play their first real live open-to-the-public show at New York's Bowery Ballroom on Apr. 14. As you'll recall, The Dead Weather is Jack White's new band with Alison Mosshart of The Kills, Jack Lawrence of the Raconteurs and Dean Fertita of QOTSA, which debuted so exclusively in Nashville in March. Tickets go on sale Wednesday (Apr. 8) at 10 a.m. Eastern.
* Jessica Simpson seems to have disappeared (from her label's website).
* Have you seen the "Beach" commercial for the new Honda Insight? It's got a drowsy little pop song in the background which I thought might be Clem Snide or Eef Barzelay of same. Turns out it's The Mostar Diving Club, the new solo project Damian Katkhuda of Obi.
