From the Department of Disappointing Things Not Metal: According to a press release issued this morning, the indefinitely postponed American Carnage tour featuring Slayer, Megadeth and Testament has now been canceled outright. As I read and then re-read the dreaded words "refunds available at point of purchase" I couldn't help but feel utterly shafted by God. Had Slayer singer Tom Araya not bitched out on this tour to have back surgery — who does he think he is, Phil Anselmo? — I'd be spending my weekend gearing up for metal at Municipal. Now I'll just have to settle for alcohol, solitude and sadness as I lock myself in my room, turn out the lights and dream of the carnage that could have been. Fuck.
