About two weeks ago,
we shared with youa pair of new tunes from local outfit Sherbert: "Heavy Metal & GBV" and "Bigger Than This," which I described as "short, sweet bursts of power-pop that showcase frontwoman Michelle Sullivan's marked improvement as a songwriter in recent months." Well hey! How about a short, sweet, campy, audiophilic, vinyl-centric video to accompany one of the tunes?
Above you can see the brand-new video for "Heavy Metal & GBV," which was shot by local video man and (full disclosure) Cream contributor Seth Graves in East Side record shop The Groove. The video stars local thespian and sometime rock 'n' roller Joe Blankenship as a record dweeb who gets locked in the building overnight and proceeds to geek out and lick a Hawkwind record. Also, a Gene McDaniels box set? PRETTY SURE THERE'S NO SUCH THING, JOE. SNORT.
Sherbert will play with power-pop legend Paul Collins and his Paul Collins Beat June 26 at The 5 Spot, and rad youngsters Fox Fun will open.
