As far as Cream coverage goes, Nashville's more polished and radio-ready country music hopefuls slip under our radar more often than not. Hell, who can keep up with all of them? Hence, this may very well be our first mention of country-rockin' locals Sage + the Saints. However, it seems only about once a year
a Hollywood hot shot dips a toe into our local music scene. The Kristen Stewart-directed (yes, Kristen Stewart of Twilight trilogy fame) clip (above) for Sage + the Saints' "Take Me to the South" debuted today and is presumably from their upcoming, crowd-funded full-length to which you
can contribute here.
The video itself (co-directed by David Ethan Shapiro and sponsored by the Buffalo David Bitton Blank Check series) was obviously shot around these parts and features a slew of local landmarks as well as sun-kissed views of our spacious outskirts. It also serves as a fairly straightforward narrative for singer-songwriter Sage Galesi (a former LA actress herself) and her return to Music City after a stint in NYC.
Given this and last year's Shia LaBeouf-directed Future Unlimited video, who's willing to place bets on the next young actor to helm a local music video? Could Dakota Fanning be behind some new Cherub visuals? Could Channing Tatum perhaps be responsible for an upcoming Wild Cub clip? Are those "Nashville is the New LA" tees from 10 years ago finally somewhat relevant?
