Road Trip to ... Franklin? Willie Nelson, Weezer, Dr. John, Jimmy Cliff and More to Play Inaugural Pilgrimage Festival

From spring to autumn, festivals of all shapes and sizes stretch across this great land — actually, scratch that, we do them

in the winter

, too. You could be forgiven for saying

enough is enough

. But hear us out on this one, because it sounds pretty sweet.

Courtesy of a federally-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organized by Franklin resident Kevin Griffin (aka frontman of alt-rock outfit Better than Ezra), the inaugural Pilgrimage Music and Cultural Festival is set for the weekend of Sept. 26-27 at the picturesque Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin, a horse farm turned into a public park by the city and the birthplace of Midnight Sun, one of the most decorated Tennessee Walking Horses. The names at the top of the bill are worth the price of admission (early-bird 2-day passes are $169 for general admission and $399 for VIP): Willie Nelson, The Decemberists, Sheryl Crow, Weezer, Jimmy Cliff, Neko Case, Iron & Wine, Dr. John and the Punch Brothers are all slated to perform, with five additional headliners to be announced (one on May 5 and four more on June 15). The festival also boasts an impressive undercard — see the full lineup after the jump.
