Road Trip to...Arkansas?: Valley of the Vapors Fest March 17-22

Levi "Ha Haziz" (Yomtov) Elvis of Monotonix gets his steam on in Hot Springs

So for folks looking to get their fest on next week who can't quite muster up the scratch to make it all the way to Austin, there's still one viable option: the 5th annual Valley of the Vapors Festival in Hot Springs National Park. The VOV Fest is taking place March 17-22 in the small but exceptionally swanky national park nestled in the heart of Arkansas (a.k.a. "Missouri's Alabama"). It's also a 501c3 public charity event. I don't know what that means, but it sounds pretty noble.

While it doesn't appear as though you can purchase passes for the entire week, there are 200 tickets available for each individual show via VOV's website, and some relatively notable bands are playing: Monotonix, The Queers, Murder by Death and even local faves The Pink Spiders. Tickets to each show range from $6-$15, and the whole shindig culminates on Sunday, March 22, with an "All-Day Band BBQ Blowout!!" featuring 16+ artists. Full schedule after the jump.
