Reconciled, Reunited Death Grips To Play Marathon Music Works

Despite self-reporting their own demise last year, experimental hip-hop outfit Death Grips are tearing across the country this summer like a tornado of abrasive glitches and screams in support of their self-described final double album, The Powers That B.

Drummer/programmer Zach Hill, producer Andy Morin and frontman/force majeure MC Ride were initially scheduled to wrap their tour at the end of July, but a just-announced second leg lands the duo at Marathon Music Works on Oct. 2; tickets will run $23-$26 and go on sale right here on Friday, July 10 at 10 a.m. The group is well-known for its tumultuous relationship with labels, promoters and tour mates, as well as fans to some degree — the initial leak of Fashion Week, the first half of  which dropped in between the two halves of the double-album The Powers That B, was met with incredulity by fans on Reddit. But when it comes down to it, their blistering show is what matters, and their on-again/off-again relationship means you can never be quite sure when you'll see something like it again. Seriously, this might be your only chance. Don't sleep on it!
