Fans of riff-rife stoner rock of course know that Palm Desert, Calif.'s monsters of heavy, Queens of the Stone Age, recently released their sixth album, ... Like Clockwork. And naturally,

ass-stomping

frontman Josh Homme (aka Ginger Elvis) and his band are embarking on an international tour in support of Clockwork that will take them to Switzerland, Germany, Mexico and even — here's the part you're skimming this post to find — Nashville's very own Municipal Auditorium.

QOTSA will play Municipal on Oct. 7

, and tickets will go on sale Friday, June 21, at noon via

.

The Queens last rolled through Nashville in March of 2011, when they played the Ryman in support of their Queens of the Stone Age reissue — and local venue-capacity sponges (or a couple of Google searches) can tell you that Municipal holds nearly four times as many folks as the Ryman. Clockwork — which was released last week and features cameos from Trent Reznor (also playing Nashville in October) and Elton John, among others — has been met with universal acclaim. So, will it be a full house? Ten-thousand asses trembling in anticipation of being kicked by Homme & Co.'s fleet-fingered desert rock? Enter the zone by watching recent performances of brand-new tunes "My God Is the Sun" (above) and "If I Had a Tail" (after the jump).
