Well, we now know where Jason Isbell stands on the issue of
artists playing albums live in their entireties.
The Nashville-by-way-of-Alabama singer-songwriter just tweeted he’ll perform his 2013 Americana-genre instant classic Southeastern from start to finish tonight at the Ryman, the first of a sold-out, three-night stand.
Does this mean this weekend’s subsequent Isbell shows will feature other surprises (like a reunion with his former Drive-By Truckers band mates)?
Perhaps.
And in related news: Anyone ever notice the uncanny resemblance between Isbell and Orson Welles (filmmaker)? Well hat tip to Nashvillian Jenna Robl, who definitely did. Behold the side-by-side comparison (at left) she posted on Facebook last night.
