If you follow along with the sort of country-informed local singer-songwriter fare that you're more likely to hear at, say, The 5 Spot than at the Bluebird Cafe, then here's a trifecta of names that ought to sound familiar to you: Cory Chisel, Robert Ellis and Jonny Fritz. We've spilled plenty of ink over each songster's material in recent years, but now they're up to something different altogether. The trio has gotten together to form a group they're calling Traveller, and you can see them performing their very first song, "Nobody Makes It Out," above. The video was created by Joshua Shoemaker.
"Nobody Makes It Out" is a rather melancholy number about "this little town" (Nashville, one might presume), with each of the three Travellers taking the lead on his own verse. Ellis and Chisel's voices mesh rather smoothly, while Fritz — the wildcard of the group — provides a little bit of character. Good tune. Give the video a look above.
