Watch Beyoncé Perform 'Daddy Lessons' with the Dixie Chicks

Yup, the rumors were true. Beyoncé was in Nashville yesterday and she and the Dixie Chicks surprised the crowd by tearing through a rollicking version of Lemonade's banjo-filled country jam "Daddy Lessons." The Dixie Chicks were prepared — they've been covering the song on their recent tour — and much of the crowd looked absolutely delighted to see the Queen, but there were a few sour faces in the front row (looking at you Kenny Chesney? Nerves, as you were just about to receive the Pinnacle Award award? Or are you a Bey hater?).

While the whole performance was inspired (quick, watch it before they pull the video!), but my favorite part was when Natalie Maines wrapped it all up by chirping Blue Ivy's "Good job, B!" at the end. And can we talk about that sax player? WHO IS THAT SAX PLAYER? I love you, spunky sax player.

Anyway, seeing Bey with the Dixie Chicks less than a week before America gets its first woman President, well, my heart is all a flutter right now. We're moving in the right direction, America. It's slow, but it's happening.

Update: Beyoncé has also posted the official recording from last night's performance.
