On the local music tip, one of the most fun surprises you could have in 2016 was catching a Chill Witch set without knowing what you were in for. You'd be forgiven for thinking you had stumbled on the daily dance ritual of a colorful, super-positive space cult. Sporadic, impressive shows and a Chance the Rapper-style Soundcloud-only release called Kitty March spurred us to crown the electronic pop outfit (Lilly "Lilly Lo Mein" White with Joel "Phantom Farmer" McAnulty and sometimes ace dance producer KDSML)

You're about to hear a lot more from Chill Witch. According to the group's management, an as-yet-untitled full-length is slated for a fall release. The plan is to press it on vinyl, and it will likely include some songs from Kitty March but it won't be a straight-ahead reissue, pulling a new configuration from the 70 or so songs White & Co. reportedly have in the can.
In the run up to the release, they've got a whole lot of goodies to share. Today, we're very pleased to premiere the music video for the wistful slow-burner "Forever." Hans Chilberg of local production group Lion Suit directs the clip (he also appears in it, alongside Ashley Boyd Jones and Landon Pigg), which follows a woman away from a romantic encounter in Shelby Park. After a few seconds, you'll realize the film is moving backwards. No spoliers, but a science-fiction twist reveals itself, hinting at a much bigger story to unfold.
