As we've seen through the week, local musicians across the spectrum have been organizing in force to support relief efforts in the wake of the deadly tornado Tuesday morning. Some of those with international star power are channeling that energy into a benefit show set for Monday night at Marathon Music Works.
To Nashville, With Love is the name of a new charitable organization that will collect funds, to be dispersed by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee to organizations involved in disaster relief efforts and providing mental health services. Monday's event is also called To Nashville, With Love, and the list of participants includes both longtime Nashvillians and musicians who don't live here but work here so often they deserve honorary-local status. There are notable artists on the rise as well as folks who headline festivals and multi-night runs at the Ryman. Here's the lineup:
- Dan Auerbach
- Brandi Carlile
- Sheryl Crow
- Jason Isbell
- Kendell Marvel
- Ashley McBryde
- Old Crow Medicine Show
- Brothers Osborne
- Margo Price
- Katie Pruitt
- Soccer Mommy
- Aaron Lee Tasjan
- Sadler Vaden
- Yola
Mike Grimes, co-owner of The Basement and The Basement East (the latter of which was nearly obliterated in the storm), will offer opening remarks.
Tickets are $75 and available now.The venue's capacity is about 1,500 people, so there will surely be many more fans who want to see this show than can get in. If you don't manage to score a ticket, the show will be broadcast live on Lighting 100 and
you can donate via the TNWL website. (Indeed, you can do both!)
