Wu-Tang Clan to Bring the Ruckus to the Mother Church
Wu-Tang Clan to Bring the Ruckus to the Mother Church

Wu-Tang Clan at Bonnaroo, 6/14/2013

We in Music City have been fortunate enough to get visits from members of the Wu-Tang Clan over the past few years, including Raekwon and Ghostface Killa celebrating Only Built 4 Cuban Linx in 2015 and GZA busting out Liquid Swords on election night 2016. The last time we got to see the whole legendary rap crew (minus the late, great ODB) in action was at Bonnaroo, all the way back in 2013. If you weren’t there, what you missed was was a high-energy throwdown, its set list packed to the brim with posse cuts.

This year, the Wu is assembling for a run of shows to salute the 25th anniversary of Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), the album that launched the group's career. 36 Chambers has become a landmark in hip-hop history, not only for its outstanding raps and distinctive production, but also for the way it helped the individual members retain creative control over their careers.

The tour stops in Nashville on Sunday, June 9, at a venue befitting such multidimensional greatness: the Ryman. Ticket prices haven’t been announced yet, but they’ll go on sale at 10 a.m. Central on Friday, March 1, right here.

While you wait, take a gander below at Certified Classics' "For the Children," a retrospective short film that offers "a tour through 36 Chambers."
