In case you missed it, local jam-bandies-gone-contemporary-college-rock Moon Taxi have a fairly high-budge new video for their jaunty, uh, jam “Morocco” — a latest single off the band’s 2013 long-player Mountains Beaches Cities. The slick-looking Matthew Wignall-directed clip itself looks like the Battle of Britain meets The Darjeeling Limited meets a Modest Mouse video circa 2004. As for the song, it’s a breezy mid-tempo pop-rock ditty that, in its entirety, clocks in at a shorter-than-most-Trey Anastasio-solos three-and-a-half minutes. Dig it.

In other Moon Taxi news, apparently the band will do its part in advancing the campaign to free Leonard Peltier by playing a set of Rage Against the Machine covers under the name People of the Sun (band logo after the jump) when they appear at Hangout Festival in ultra-RATM-agenda-friendly Gulf Shores, Ala., later this month. Be sure to catch that if you’re Hangout bound.
