The new Lake Fever Sessions site has set sail for the seven internets, and there to break the champagne over the bow were The Privates, who recorded three songs, including "I'll Be Honest" (above). The concept is simple, but a good one: Get a band in the studio at Lake Fever, film them—that's handled by the gentlemen of Tugboat Productions—and put it up on the site along with comments from the band. The Privates also recorded one of the covers they learned for the Cream party, of which frontman Dave Paulson says, "I think maybe ten people in the crowd recognized it, and half of them thought it was an Apollo Up! song." And I thought it was just me! (That reminds me—there's a recording of that show around here somewhere that I've been meaning to post MP3s of.)

Word on the street is that new sessions will be going up every three weeks or so. Coming soon: Elle Macho, Those Darlins and Roman Candle.
