In honor of the late Bo Diddley, who died today at age 79, here's footage of a vintage soundcheck from 1991 with a pick-up band. The soundcheck not only doubled as a rehearsal—they practiced for 20 minutes before the show, and that was it—but as a tutorial in the mystic ways of the Bo Diddley Beat, which was too potent to be entrusted to any mere drummer. See if you can identify the Nashville guitarist (and Weird Al Yankovic lookalike) to Mr. Diddley's left. It shouldn't be too much of an ordeal.
