Ah, what a question. It's a debate going at the Velvet Rope, and after mocking the poor fellow who asked (you'll see why shortly), someone did the honors of listing several Nashville rock bands in order of importance.
"Mulder" asked:
Hello, I'm a songwriter/bassist and at the beginning of next year I'm moving to some city to find a lead singer whose voice fits certain songs I've made which are in the vein of early 90s alternative rock. I've heard that singers eagerly come to Nashville to 'make it', and thats why its one of the cities I'm considering. Would it be a good place though, to find singers who would want to do rock? In short, I just want to be in a city where there is no shortage of rock singers to find and contact so I can have the best chances of finding someone who would really fit the part of a lead singer in this band and who would enjoy doing it. I made a thread in the velvet rope forums a while back on a previous username(forgot my username and password since then), but I didn't seem to get the answers I sought. They were more like answers to the question, "What city has a hip music scene?". Would Nashville be a good place for someone like me? If not, any opinions on another city would be appreciated.
Find your band in the round-up after the jump and get to bitchin'.
