Tonight, two of my great loves come together: SciFi Channel's epic sociopolitical space drama Battlestar Galactica and Nashville's local rock scene. De Novo Dahl's "Shout" will be featured in a promo for the channel's new Friday night line-up (which also includes Starship Atlantis and some other random show).
While letting us know about this news, manager Aaron Hartley made sure to get in a jab: "I'm expecting a sharp increase in Star Trek fans at our upcoming concerts..."
Hey Aaron, this is Battlestar, winner of countless accolades and enthusiastic acclaim for transcending the sci-fi genre with its 9/11-influenced examinations of fear, social contracts and what exactly makes us human. In short, it's not some bootleg Star Trek rip-off. It's awesome—I promise. Pick up the DVDs. You might even have time to get caught up before the premiere of the fourth and final season in April.
Anyway, I'm back to searching for screencaps of Christian Shepard in Jacob's cabin on LOST. De Novo Dahl will also be featured on the upcoming premiere of VH1's new show Free Radio.
So say we all.
