Oxygen, the most elemental network for women, is filming a show called The Girls, a true-ish story about the offspring of country icons trying to make it in Nashville.
Think of "country icons" as a loose guideline. Girl Tayla Lynn is the granddaughter of Loretta, Jennifer Wayne is the granddaughter of John Wayne, and Caroline Cutbirth is the, uh, great-great-great-great-grandniece of Daniel Boone. Unsurprisingly, the Girl with the most tenuous celebrity lineage has hands-down the best voice. It's almost like this whole idea is a gimmick or something!
So, if you're pissed that Spike TV isn't following your rock 'n' roll trials and tribulations at The End and Ken's Gold Club, try whipping out a family tree and see if you're a distant cousin of Himmler or something. Now that's a premise!
All The Girls will be at 12th & Porter on Mar. 16 if you want to check them out.
