David Berman (Kinda) Featured in New Dexateens Track

Berman takes the 'Teens under his wing. Sorta.

In honor of all our college-student friends currently burdened with the pressures of exam season, I've got a little quiz for you. David Berman is to Dexateens as:

A) Chuck D is to Sonic Youth

B) Lil' John is to Usher

C) Snoop Dogg is to Johnny Cash

D) All of the above

In the spirit of awesome dudes being featured on tracks just for the sake of being featured and supplying affirmative responses to lyrics (i.e. "yes," "yeah," et cetera), I present to you "Can You Whoop It," the final track off Dexateens' Singlewide. Singlewide will be out May 12 via Skybucket/Cornelius Chapel Records, and Dexateens' tour will bring them through Nashville on May 24. See the full list of dates after the jump.

Now, you guys certainly all remember that

David Berman has left music for good

, and the above is allegedly the last track he recorded before doing so. While it would be awesome if Berman's game plan was simply to sneak into recording sessions of various regionally recognized rock acts and whisper monosyllabic verifications, last I heard

he was working on a book of cartoons

. Something tells me that his shit will be slightly darker than "Marmaduke." Either way, Dave,

that offer to write for the Cream

is still on the table.
